Allen Matthews produced this slice of heavy deep-funk together with no one else than Charles Spurling, who is best known for his work with the Godfather of Soul. Matthews was a local musician who performed in and around Cincinnati, Ohio and released his two 45rpm singles on Spurling's Bubbles label in 1970. For all deep-funk fans out there, Allen's Party has been recently featured on the compilation album "Feeling Nice Vol.2" (TRLP/CD-9027), compiled by Daniel Wanders and Tobias Kirmayer.
